UEFA EURO 2020

11 June – 11 July 2021

Hosted at Hampden Park, Glasgow
14, 18, 22, 29 June 2021

The UEFA EURO 2020 volunteer management team are greatly missing our usual football fix. It has been over three months now since all football in Scotland was suspended due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak and on 18 March it was announced that unfortunately UEFA EURO 2020 would be postponed until summer 2021. We are of course all disappointed that we won't get to see the best of European football come together this summer to play at the tournament, however, with that being said we now look forward to summer 2021 with great anticipation.

To help fill the football void we asked our UEFA EURO 2020 volunteers, that should have been assisting at the four matches scheduled for this month at Hampden Park if they have any special football memories and what they love and miss most about football.

Football Stories: Alison

I'm really missing football, it all started with my dad who supported the HiHi's our local team but then we moved and Third Lanark folded and we all started supporting our local team, Rangers FC.

Football Stories: Toni

I volunteer at a team local to me in the East of Scotland League and while I moan about it consistently, I didn’t realise how much I would miss it.

Football Stories: Steve

As a proud supporter of my home nation Wales, I was fortunate to have been part of the 'Red Wall' over at the Euros in France in 2016.

Football Stories: Gerry

My wife and I attended the Europa league final in Lyon 2018- it was an amazing experience, with the final itself being one of the best for a long time.

Football Stories: Karen

My earliest football memory is sitting on my grandad's knee watching a Scotland game on TV, I think I was about four.

Football Stories: Joseph

I can remember attending a Celtic game with my Dad and Grandpa, the game was an away trip to Motherwell.

Football Stories: George

I have been a football fan since 1990 as a young boy at 8 years old and grew up supporting my local team in Edinburgh, Hibernian Football Club.
