Thousands turn out for national football exhibition
'The Hampden Roar' travelling exhibition may only be half way through its four-city Scottish tour, but it has already drawn in nearly two thousand Scots, eager to get a glimpse of the Henri Delaunay Cup and the display of iconic European and Scottish footballing memorabilia.
More than 1,100 fans attended the Dundee leg of the exhibition when it kicked off on Saturday 12th October at the Overgate Shopping Centre, and over 800 football supporters visited the showing in Inverness at the city's Leisure Centre.
The family-friendly, interactive exhibition celebrates the European Championship matches taking place at Hampden Park next year and offers visitors the chance to immerse themselves in the 60-year history of the competition.

Visiting the exhibition in Dundee, Sports Minister Joe FitzPatrick said: "I'm delighted the travelling football exhibition, ‘The Hampden Roar’, is coming to Dundee as part of its tour of the country. It offers a fantastic opportunity for people to experience the excitement of the EUROs. With five interactive zones, including the chance to get a photo with the coveted Henri Delaunay Cup, there is something for everyone to come and enjoy.”
This is the first time that the EURO 2020 trophy – the Henri Delaunay Cup - has toured Scotland and is a unique opportunity for fans to see it first-hand and take that all important selfie!
Designed to spread some 'EURO-fever' across Scotland this October half-term break, 'The Hampden Roar' will be in Aberdeen tomorrow, Thursday 17th October at Aberdeen Sports Village, and in Edinburgh on Saturday 19th October at Ocean Terminal Shopping Centre. The exhibition is free to visit and will be open on both days from 10am until 6pm.
In 2020, Scottish fans will have the chance to witness iconic moments first-hand as Hampden Park plays host to four UEFA EURO 2020 matches (15, 19, 23 and 30 June 2020). Football fans in Glasgow will have a chance to get up close to the trophy in spring 2020, when the Glasgow trophy tour takes place prior to the tournament beginning.
